Elvis Presley "The King"

Army Time

Picture

After high school Elvis had many accomplishments. Some of these accomplishments would be: recording a two-sided acetate disc, playing in local places, signing on to sun records and, making a national TV appearance, then came the army draft. When Elvis was sent to base the paparazzi was already waiting for Elvis at his destination. While in Fort Chaffee, Elvis received a lot of attention.  This caused the military to prohibit Elvis to be in the media. This is also where Elvis’s fall also begins, not because of the army, but because of the loss of his beloved mother. After his mother’s death he was introduced to drugs.  Here he began to use amphetamines such as ecstasy. Much of this had to do with pear pressure since he would do it with a group of guys, and the loss of his mother had a big influence on him. Besides the down beating times in the army Elvis also had positive times. For example, while Elvis was off in Friedberg he met Priscilla Beaulieu, which he later on got engaged to and married.
Elvis Presley is and will continue to be the king of rock and roll ! ! ! He accomplished so much with the little that he began with. Elvis didn’t need money or anything special, all he needed was the love and encouragement of his mother. Elvis accomplished many things that people would never imagine a poor little kid doing.  All of this was done because of his childhood living experiences, his mothers influence with school and church, and even going oversees to serve his country. Elvis will live with us forever and will always be remembered for all of the good times and positive influences he has created for generations to come.
